Court Support
The Salt Lake Community Bail Fund has partnered with over a dozen local organizations to provide trained volunteers to accompany people to their court or immigration hearings and to connect people to emergency resources as needed.
Court support volunteers can:
- Provide social and emotional support to individuals and families
- Provide "Know Your Rights" information
- Provide and initiate an "Emergency Family Preparedness Plan"
- Contact family and friends in case of an emergency or detainment
- Request legal support in case of detainment
- Provide resource referrals to individuals and families
- Document police and ICE activity
- Request bail support if applicable
Court support volunteers cannot:
- Prevent or interfere with arrest or detainment by police or ICE
- Provide legal advice
- Provide vehicle transportation

To request court support, send the following in the email addressed to slcbailfund@proton.me.
- Name of court support recipient
- Appointment location
- Appointment date
- A-number
- Country of birth
- Emergency contact information
- Primary language
- Description of assistance requested
